Yellowstone 2018 Journal

Yellowstone Journal

Surprise!  This is not the journal.  This is merely a trial run to see if I like this medium and how well it will work with family contacts.  So, stand by as there may be a flood of information coming . . .  or not. Already, I see a problem--can't see how to save pictures in the text.  Anyway . . .

Here is the first part of the journal . . .

Abstract

After years of trying to get into the Worldmark by Wyndham in the town of West Yellowstone, I got lucky with a call, when the agent said, “You’re not gonna believe this but a large unit just came open.  Do you want to book it now?”  “Let me think about it for a microsecond…Yes!”

Day 1, Saturday, 5-5-18

We arise at 0400—another trip with a disgustingly early start.  I tend to be crabby at such hours, which is not a recipe for a pleasant trip.  However, an early start does have its advantages—early arrival, smaller crowds, fewer delays by the airlines, and less chance of being scrozzled by missed connections.  This day is particularly fraught with tension—if all goes well we will have only 38 minutes between landing at Atlanta and the scheduled take-off of the second flight.  In Atlanta, this can be stressful at best, suicidal at worst given our ages.  Diane has assured me that it is the best that could be done and not to worry--there is a second flight which will get us into Bozeman A/P only 12 hours later at 11:35 p.m.   Then after renting the car it will be a mere 2 hours later when we arrive at West Yellowstone at 1:30 a.m. …if we don’t get lost in the dark or worse.  That is, however, better than spending the night in Bozeman!  Thank you, Diane.  And it turns out that “thanks” to Diane are in order…
